Faisalabad: Government is taking serious measure to bridge the gap between demand and supply of electricity said Tariq Mehmood Chattha Chief Executive Officer, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). In a statement issued here, he said that shortage of electricity was a national problem and efforts are being made to resolve it within the available resources. However, the violence and protestation over this issue are no solution to this problem.

The FESCO administration was very much concerned and was passing on any relief without any delay particularly to the industrial consumers to keep the wheel of industry in full swing. Regarding fuel adjustment surcharge and other taxes he clarified that consumers are liable to pay these taxes and surcharge in the light of government directive under NEPRA rules and regulations.

He said that some consumers had protested and put on fire their electricity bills in front of FESCO Headquarters. However, a large number of consumers have got their duplicate from concerned Revenue Offices and are paying the bills. The Chief Executive thanked the consumers and asked them to pay their bills in time enabling FESCO to ensure uninterrupted power supply to them.
