City Government launch Anti Encroachments Drive
Karachi: City District Government Karachi has launched anti encroachments drive to recover all grabbed land from the possession of land mafia. The anti encroachments squad had so far recovered 4,292 acres of land costing Rs29billion and 124 persons were taken into custody during the operation.
This was stated by Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed while addressing a press conference in Civic Centre on Saturday.
District Coordination Officer Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh, EDO Revenue Ganhor Leghari, Addl. EDO Revenue Matanat Ali Khan, Incharge Anti Encroachments Cell Irfan Bahadur and other officers of land, estate and revenue department were present on this occasion.
Administrator Mohammad Hussain Syed reiterated city government resolve to vacate all grabbed land in the city through an impartial operation.
He said the operation against land grabbers will continue till the end of all encroachments. Record of all grabbed land had been already compiled by city government and now gradual action will be taken to vacate this land from the possession of land grabbers. The recovered government land will then be used for public welfare projects while the grabbed land of people will be returned back to them.
Administrator Karachi said besides using anti encroachments squad in the operation, help and cooperation of police, rangers and FC will also be sought if and when required.

This is to bring into your notice that I Dr M.Maroof Qureshi the owner of plot No. B-243, Block 11 gulisten-e-jauhar has been suffering by the unsecured conditions created by the land mafia of Zikri Goth, located in block 11 Gulistan-e-jauhar, for the last 20 years since I bought this plot. This block-11 is also deprived of developmental work, which had to be done by KDA/CDGK, is only because the land mafia of Zikri Goth didn’t allow them to do work. The most serious issue is the total failure of KDA/CDGK, to demarcate the zikri goth and to force them to live in their limit. The land mafia of zikri goth illegally and fearlessly possessed the plots and demolished the boundary wall if anyone dared to construct.
In early 2006, like others I also constructed a boundary wall but on 14 September 2006 they came to my plot B-243/11, threatened the guard there and demolished a part of boundary wall in order to prevail harassment and to get there demanded amount of money.
In 2011(few months back) the land mafia of zikri goth constructed parts of that broken boundary wall, make a room inside it and the gate on the wall, some one is residing there, is a man of the encroacher.
This is sheer injustice and lawlessness, which we (plot owner of this block 11 of gulistan-e-jauhar) have been facing helplessly from the last 20 years. We are educated and civilized people paying all the government taxes regularly and living in the biggest city of Pakistan so we do not deserve this kind of injustice which is simply considered as the LAW OF JUNGLE.
I had been crying out for justice and help but always driven out. I had made several complaints to the related authorities, but no one paid any attention and I only wander about. With great hope I am writing to you to find a way out of this difficulty. Kindly look into the matter and take immediate action to solace us.

I saw there was operation of anti encroachment cell near kamran chowrangi in Block-10 Gulistan-e-Jauhar. What about Block-11 where illegal mafia has made Zikri and Bingo Goth. We request authority to take some action against it. Also there is Sindh government ORDER M-489, Dated October 10, 2011. But we still need to see any action.
It is a shame to see land mafia grabbing the land in the KDA scheme Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the middle of the city. Block 11 is the latest target with zakari and bingo goth made illegally by land grabbers from PPP. Where is KDA?.. Where is city government?…Where is Wasay Jalil (MQM)?
I have also faced the similar situation as written by Dr. Maroof Qureshi that the owners of plots are not in a position to enter their premises due to threat of illegal land grabbers as well as the illegal purchasers. I think that the government of sindh are also involved and support the above illegal persons, if not then the sindh government is required to start the following works:
1. Start Development Work in Block-11.
2. Issue instructions for Transfer and lease of the plots to the genuine owners and
given time frame for constructions on the plots.
3. Provide security to the actual owners /residents of Block-11, Gulistan-e-Johar
4. Block-11 Gulistan-e-Jauhar Karachi is previously lying under the jurisdiction of
Faisal Cantonment Board, Karachi but presently when visiting the web site of
Faisal Cantonment they have not shown Block-11 under their jurisdiction where
as on the website of Gulshan Town Block-11 is seen under the jurisdiction of
Faisal Cantt. So it is necessary to fix the jurisdictional authority over Block-11.
If the government is serious to resolve the issues of respectable peoples who have paid money to the government against their plots then save and earn revenue following:
a) First of all Block-11 is clean and all the criminal activities of vicinity because
criminals left the Block,
b) Received hand sum revenue in shape of Stamp Duty, property tax, water
charges as well as other agencies will receive their service charges i.e. PTCL,
KESC, CITY GOVT/CANTONMENT BOARD etc.

ALL THE THE BLOCK IS COVERED BT LAND GRABBER
PLOT NO A-126,BLOCK-10,GULISTAN-E-JAUHAR KARACHI
I am the owner of plot No. A-126, Block 10 Gulisten-e-jauhar And I has been suffering by the unsecured conditions created by the land mafia of located in block 10 Gulistan-e-jauhar, for the last 15 years since I bought this plot. This block-10 is also deprived of developmental work, which had to be done by KDA/CDGK, is only because the land mafia of Chistai Nager didn’t allow them to do work. The most serious issue is the total failure of KDA/CDGK, The land mafia of Chistai Nager illegally and fearlessly possessed the plots and demolished the boundary wall if anyone dared to construct.
The land mafia of Chisti Nager constructed a boundary wall on my plot and make a room inside it. Please release the possession of my Plot. The Land Grabbers cover all the plots near the dividing road of Block-10 and Block-11. This is sheer injustice and lawlessness, which we (plot owner of this block 10 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar) have been facing helplessly from the last 15 years.
