Minister for Economy from Kyrgyzstan Mr Kojoshev Arzybek Orozbekovich meets Federal Minister for IPC Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada

Islamabad, January 12, 2017 (PPI-OT):Mr. Kojoshev Arzybek Orozbekovich, Minister for Economy from Kyrgyzstan met with Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister for IPC at Pakistan Sports Complex. Both sides agreed to exchange coaches for the training of the players of the two countries especially in view of the World Nomad Games. Matters of mutual interests were discussed during the meeting. The honourable guest said that we are brother countries and Kyrgyzstan wants to enhance relations with Pakistan, in different fields especially Sports, Culture and economy.

The Federal Minister warmly welcomed the honourable guest and said that Pakistan highly valued its relations with brother Islamic country which are moving from strength to strength and the visit of Minister for Economy would enhance bilateral cooperation and lead to greater the partnership between the two countries. Raja Nadir Ali, Secretary for IPC, and Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) were also present in the meeting. At the end, souvenirs were exchanged.

Quaid-i-Azam Inter Provincial Games 2016

Islamabad, March 29, 2016 (PPI-OT):A meeting of the Organizing Committee of Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Ali Gardezi, Secretary Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination on 28th March, 2016 at 1300 hours in the Committee Room of Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad. Members of the Committee attended the meeting.

The participants expressed deep grief over the sad incidents that took place at Lahore and Islamabad on 27th March, 2016. The meeting also deliberated upon the law and order situation in the Federal Capital and the engagement of law enforcing agencies in the current state of affairs. Taking into cognizance of the current situation, Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games 2016 have been postponed for the time being.

Member Indian Parliament and Deputy High Commissioner of India meets Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination/President, Pakistan Sports Board

Islamabad, January 06, 2016 (PPI-OT): Member Indian Parliament, Mr. Bhubaneswar Kalita along with Mr. J. P. Singh, Deputy High Commissioner of India met with Mian Riaz Husain Pirzada, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination in his office at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The honourable guest invited the Minister to send Pakistani Sports contingent to participate in the forthcoming 12th South Asian Games scheduled to be held at Guawati and Shillong, India from 05-16 February, 2016.

During the meeting, the Federal Minister assured the participation of Pakistani contingent in the forthcoming South Asian Games in 21 events consists of around 440 players, coaches and officials but showed great concern over the security issues. Mr. Kalita ensured that fool proof security will be provided to the Pakistani contingent. Furthermore, this participation will improve the bond between two neighbour countries which is at lowest because of the recent Pathankot incident.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Gardezi, Secretary Ministry of IPC, Mr. Amir Tariq Zaman, Additional Secretary, Mr. Khalid Mahmud Mirza, Joint Secretary and Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General, Pakistan Sports Board were also present at the occasion.

Election of Chess Federation of Pakistan

Islamabad, August 20, 2015 (PPI-OT):Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhary, Secretary, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination has appointed Mr. Shoaib Mir Memon, Additional Secretary, Ministry of IPC as Election Commissioner. A committee comprising Syed Habib Shah, Deputy Director General (Technical) and Mr. Muhammad Azam Dar, Director National Federations to provide the assistance and support to the election commissioner for holding the election of Chess Federation of Pakistan in free, fair and transparent manner.

For participation in international sports competition each federation should submit a complete case to Pakistan Sports Board at least six weeks before departure of the team

Islamabad, August 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): In accordance with the Government instructions, for participation in any international sports competition abroad, each federation is required to submit a complete case on PSB prescribed proforma alongwith invitation, computer clearance proforma, surety bond, undertaking and departmental NOC at least six weeks before departure of the team.

For participation of Pakistan Boxing team in the Asian Boxing Championship to be held in Bangkok (Thailand) from 25th August to 5th September, 2015, Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) has not yet submitted the required documents inspite of PSB letter dated 27th July, 2015. However, PBF vide letter dated 15th August, 2015 requested PSB for release of special grant of Rs.2,151,340/- without any document and Government NOC.

On the other hand, Mr. Doda Khan Bhutto has addressed a letter to PSB and informed his address for future correspondence whereas, Mr. Iqbal Husain has established another office at Plot # 64, Main Khayaban-e-Ghazi, Phase-V, D.H.A, Karachi. It may also be noted that there are cases filed in the Sindh High Court, Karachi regarding embezzlement of funds by Mr. Doda Khan Bhutto.

However, in realizing the Lausanne agreement PSB invited some information vide letter dated 9th September 2014 from all the National Sport Federations but Pakistan Boxing Federation has failed to submit the same till to-date. It was clearly mentioned in the reminder that the federations those failed to implement the requisite S.R.O will not be funded.

Inspite of PSB’s letter dated 5th August, 2015, PBF has not submitted the requisite documents and even did not respond as yet. Keeping in view the promotional interest of boxing, PSB will try to arrange funds for the participation of boxing team after obtaining NOC from the Government.

Olympics Qualification Round in Belgium from 14 June to 6 July, 2015

Islamabad, June 09, 2015 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Hockey Federation has informed Pakistan Sports Board the acute financial constraints being faced by them. Pakistan Hockey team has to play Olympics Qualification Round in Belgium from 14 June to 6 July, 2015.

Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination and Pakistan Sports Board have decided to sponsor the visit of Pakistan Hockey team to participate in the Qualifying Round in Belgium. The expenditure in this regard will be met out from its regular budget by squeezing the resources. Pakistan Sports Board will bear expenses of return airfare, hotel charges and D.A.

Pakistan Hockey team will consist of 18 players and 04 officials for participation in the Fintro Hockey World League Semi Finals at Antwerp, Belgium from 14 June to 6 July, 2015. Pakistan Hockey team will play practice matches with the Ireland team on 16 and 18th June, 2015.

This extra-ordinary measure is to ensure the participation of Pakistan Hockey team in next Olympics in Brazil and to meet the expectations of the lovers of Pakistan’s National Game. The Ministry/PSB wishes good luck to the Pakistan Hockey team.
