15th August Black Day For jammu and Kashmir: Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, August 15, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has said that the Kashmiri people have been forced by India’s military and police horror, terror and torture of unimaginable magnitude to observe black day on 15th August – Indian Independence Day and protest as always across the territory against its forcible occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that India, instead of fulfilling its pledged plebiscite as per the UN resolutions, continued to hoodwink the world opinion by telling white lies, increasing enormously its military machinery and imposing draconian laws to crush public anger and destabilize the regional peace.

He said India had killed thousands of innocent Kashmiris and destroyed rich habitat and environmental beauty and humanity in and around occupied Kashmir. He warned that India was bent upon changing demographic character of the occupied territory by amending its own constitutional clauses related to the state subject law. “The volatile situation should be taken notice of by the UN and a commission of inquiry should be appointed by the World Body to directly investigate the human rights violations in Kashmir,” he said.

The JKPFL Chairman deplored that India’s National Investigation Agency had unleashed a reign of terror to intimidate the Kashmiris and a large number of detained political leaders and workers including women leaders were being lodged in Indian prisons after being arrested by the NIA. He stated all the segments of the society irrespective of race and religion equally among Muslims and non-Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir were feeling insecure, threatened, and restless because of Delhi’s fresh design to repeal the 35-A of the Indian Constitution.

Farooq Rehmani appealed to the UN to encourage and facilitate dialogue between Pakistan and India and monitor the talks process to find out a lasting resolution of the Kashmir dispute, which was call of the time, according to the UN charter and its relevant resolutions, failing which peace might be jeopardized with an unimaginable speed.
