Federal Board of Revenue extends Warehousing Period and Waiver off Penal Surcharge on overstayed Warehoused goods


Islamabad: Federal Board of Revenue has issued a notification No. SRO 595(1)/201 dated 10th June 2011 whereby penal surcharge on goods not cleared within the prescribed period has been fully waived off. Federal Board of Revenue has surpassed Last Year’s Total Revenue Collections in the First Week of June 2011


Islamabad: FBR has surpassed last year’s revenue collections of Rs. 1327.38 Billions in the first week of June, 2011. A comparison reveals that in fiscal year 2009-10, total collection of Rs. 1327.38 Billions was made by the close of that year. Demonetization of Rs 500 Old-Design Banknote from Oct. 1, 2011


Karachi: Old design and bigger size banknote of Rs 500 denomination will be demonetized with effect from 1st October, 2011. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has asked the general public to exchange these notes from the field offices SBP Banking Services Corporation (BSC) and branches of commercial banks operating throughout the country latest by September 30, 2011. Karachi: Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Khan Durrani said storm water drainage a big problem in Karachi which is due to the presence of lot of encroachments on the old natural drains system that dates back to colonial era.
