Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali shah spent busy day

Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today spent a busy day and attended the proceedings of Sindh provincial assembly. He also met with provincial ministers and MPA’s there. He listened to their problems and issued spot orders. Syed Qaim Ali Shah also met with people at corridors of Assembly building and received applications from them.

British high commissioner Mr. Adam Thomson calls on chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah had a meeting with British High Commissioner Mr. Adam Thomson at C.M House. The meeting was attended by Deputy High Commissioner of U.K at Karachi Mr Francis Campbell, Sindh Education Secretary Mr. Muhammad Siddique Memon, Sindh Secretary for Rehabilitation Syed Sohail Akbar Shah and others.

British High Commissioner said that his country wants to assist Sindh Government for promotion and development of Education in the province. He informed that the United Kingdom Department for International Development has established “Sindh Education Fund” of 16 million pounds, and as per target, one million (10-lac) out of School Children, will be brought to Schools by supporting private Schools.

The British High Commissioner added that it has been envisaged to spread education in most neglected areas of rural and urban Karachi, district Khairpur and district Mithi (Tharparker) have been fixed as target areas. He further said that United Kingdom also intends to extend assistance for rehabilitation of rain affected people and will do the needful in affected areas.

Chief Minister Sindh appreciated the gesture of assistance and cooperation particularly for the furtherance of literacy particularly in remote and backward areas of Sindh province.

He further said that provincial government has made adequate arrangements in this regard while various schemes are being implemented with the assistance of UNICEF and other donor agencies. Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed in the meeting. Secretary Education informed the details of educational activities and Secretary Rehabilitation highlighted needs of rain affected requirements in the province.
