Pakistan, Iran to move together on path of peace, prosperity: Iranian Foreign Minister

Islamabad, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif says Pakistan and Iran would move together on the path of peace and prosperity. Speaking at Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad on Monday afternoon, he said the two countries have to further expand and strengthen their relations. The Iranian Foreign Minister said at a time when the region and the Muslim Ummah are facing great challenges, Pakistan and Iran have bigger role to play.

He said the two countries have similar security challenges and they will have to cooperate with each other to tackle them effectively. He said Pakistan and Iran are strongly linked with bonds of religion and culture. Javad Zarif pointed out that both countries stood with each other during difficult periods.

Ahsan Iqbal directs to extend Safe City Project to other cities

Islamabad, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal launched a mobile phone application in Islamabad on Monday through which the general public can lodge complaints with the National Counter Terrorism Authority about hate speech. Speaking on the occasion, he said this application named ‘Chaukas’ will help counter extremism and terrorism through direct involvement of the people. He directed the officials to take timely action on the complaints so that the application can be made effective.

Earlier, the Interior Minister inaugurated new building of NACTA headquarters in Islamabad. He took a round of the newly established building and also chaired a meeting related to internal security. The meeting was attended by Inspector Generals of Police of all provinces, Director General National Police Bureau, Commandant FC and other senior officials. Addressing the meeting, the Interior Minister directed the relevant authorities to extend the Safe City project to other cities.

He said police and counter terrorism departments should start youth internship program as a lot of youth want to work in federal institutions. He said peace and stability has a deep connection with economic prosperity and directed the officials to ensure security along the CPEC route. Ahsan Iqbal also advised them to establish terrorism screening system and to get benefit from expertise of international security institutions through partnership and mutual collaboration.

Kashmir is the part of Pakistan and we always remember innocent Kashmiris in our prayers: Imam of Kaaba

Islamabad, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): Imam of Kaaba Dr. Saleh bin Muhammad Al-Talib met Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan in Parliament House, today and admired Pakistan’s role for maintaining peace in the region and commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism and extremism from the country and beyond.

Talking to the Speaker, the Imam expressed immense pleasure on his visit to Pakistan and said that people of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong and eternal bonds. “Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are like two bodies and one soul. Our sorrow, happiness and destination are the same. Both the countries are the symbol of peace, brotherhood, progress and prosperity, he said. He further said that Pakistan has a significant place in the Muslim world and is playing a vital role for peace and stability in the region.

While talking about the Kashmir issue, Imam of Kaaba said that he considers Kashmir is the part of Pakistan and accept this reality. I always remember the innocent people of Kashmir in my prayers, Dr. Saleh bin Muhammad said.

Imam of Kaaba expressed that terrorism and extremism could not be tolerated anymore and they should not be linked to Islam. He called for unity in ranks of the Muslim world and condemned sectarianism and extremism. Terrorism is destroying economy and spreading poverty and ignorance in the world, so it is the responsibility of the Islamic scholars to stand against this evil, he said.

While talking to the Imam of Kaaba, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pakistan is worried about the situation of entire Muslim Ummah. “Terrorism, extremism and destruction are common in most of the Islamic world. I think this is the conspiracy designed by our common enemies who did not want the development and prosperity of Islamic World”, the Speaker said.

The Speaker said that the people and government of Pakistan have the greatest regard for Saudi Arabia and they will never tolerate any aggression against it. “We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the protection of Harmain Shareefain” the Speaker assured. He said that the relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are deep rooted and time tested and the same level of relationship exists between the peoples of both countries.

National Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker congratulate Chairman, Deputy Chairman Senate and Newly Elected Senators

Foreign Ministers of Iran and Pakistan held bilateral consultations in Islamabad

Islamabad, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT):Dr. Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of Iran who is on a visit to Pakistan from 11-13 March, 2018, today held consultations on bilateral relations and regional peace and security with Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Foreign Minister of Pakistan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides agreed to continue engagement for enhancing economic cooperation including bilateral trade, investments and commercial interaction to promote shared prosperity. They reiterated their resolve to achieve the target of $5 billion by 2021 through regular exchange of trade delegations, establishing banking channels, holding trade exhibitions and addressing tariff and non-tariff barriers. They further resolved to conclude the FTA on priority.

The Foreign Ministers underlined that as two brotherly neighbouring countries Iran and Pakistan would deepen connectivity between the two sister ports of Gwadar and Chahbahar to benefit from their complementarities. Pakistan and Iran strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and appreciated increased cooperation in border security. To facilitate movement of people and goods across the border, it was agreed to expedite operationalization of two new border crossings.

The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on important developments on regional and international peace and security. They supported political resolution of the Afghan conflict for durable peace and stability in Afghanistan, and the region. Expressing concerns about growing presence of Daesh in Afghanistan and its implications for regional security, the two sides underlined the need for further cooperation against trans-national terrorist groups.

Pakistan and Iran reiterated support for the peaceful struggle of the peoples of Palestine and Kashmir for their right to self determination. The two countries also emphasized the need for honouring of the JCPOA commitments by all parties. To commemorate the 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between Iran and Pakistan, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif delivered a talk at the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad this afternoon.

Pakistan condoles Bangladesh plane crash deaths

New Islamabad International Airport to be operational in April: Sardar Mahtab

Islamabad, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan affirms that the New Islamabad International Airport would be operational in the month of April this year. He said that no comprise on airport quality standards will be tolerated and no further delay will be made in this regard. He expressed these views while visiting and inspecting the different facilities of new airport before operationalization here in Islamabad on Monday. Besides, officials of aviation division, CAA, ASF and PIA were also present on this occasion. Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation was given a detailed briefing about the operational readiness and the latest technology installed at new Airport. The new Airport would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 85 billion.

Airport has two Runways and it will cater 9 million passengers per annum. Airport is equipped with state of the art facilities and equipment including modern Aerobridges, Radar, Landing and Airfield Lighting System. This new airport would have 15 passenger boarding bridges and a vast parking area. Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation said that new airport would be a great milestone in the history of Pakistan Aviation and it will provide best facilities of international standards to its valued customers. During his visit, Advisor to PM also planted Cassia nodosa tree at New Islamabad airport.
