Trainee Officers of 42nd Special Training Program paid a study tour to Central Police Office

Lahore, January 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Addl IG Operations Punjab Inam Ghani said that Punjab Police is committed by day and night to protect wealth and lives of people and supremacy of law along with improving public service delivery. He said that available resources are being utilized to promote modern policing and investigation methods and actions are being promoted so that no stone should be left un-turned to serve the people besides elimination of criminals. He further said that all police stations have been digitalized to change the Thana culture and CCTV cameras have been installed in front desk, lock ups, SHO offices whereas these cameras are monitored in DPO, RPO and Central Police Office.

 

He moreover said that Punjab Police has enhanced its efficiency and performance with the establishment of different specialized forces like SPU, CTD, Anti-Riot, Dolphin and Peru by which Police are countering the challenges in a better way. He further said that to deal with stress management issues, the strength of psychologists in the department are being increased whereas there is a strict internal accountability system for punishment and reward of Punjab Police officers and officials. These views were expressed by him when he was discussing and responding to queries of officers of 42nd special training program at central police office today. DIG trading Suleman Sultan Rana and AIG operations Imran Kishwar were present at this occasion.

 

The trainee officers of civil services academy Lahore were briefed about the operational modes and modern projects of Punjab Police whereas officers also asked questions about public problems and challenges faced by Punjab Police. Addl IG told them that integrated command and control system of safe city Lahore have also been replicated in other districts of the province and monitoring and surveillance system are being supported by this system.

 

He further added that fast actions are under way in accordance with the National Action Plan in all districts whereas timely actions by CTD have considerably reduced the terrorist attacks in the province. He further said that to address the issue of delay in registration of FIR, SP Complaints have been appointed in all districts who are ensuring quick actions over the complaints of the citizens whereas 8787 complaint center and open courts are being regularly held to address issues of the citizens and their objective is to end the problems of citizens without any delay. In the end of the visit, memorial souvenirs were exchanged between Addl IG operations Inam Ghani and the leadership of the delegation.

NHA’s snow clearance operations Karakoram Highway and Lowari Tunnel opened for all kinds of traffic

Islamabad, January 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): National Highway Authority has successfully completed its snow clearance an operation from Karakoram Highway (N-35) and resultantly all kinds of traffic are playing on it. Likewise, NHA has also removed snow from the North and South portal roads of Lowari Tunnel located on N-45. According to details, at average 01:00 metre to 01:50 metre snow was recorded there.

 

The officers and staff of National Highway Authority and personnel of contractor of routine maintenance arranged snow removing machinery including Bulldozers, Graders and tractors at affected sites and completed snow clearance operations on emergency basis. Now Lowari Tunnel and access roads have been opened for safe passage.

 

Further, Karakoram Highway, a symbol of Pak-China Friendship, is termed life line for the whole Gilgit Baltistan region. As per report, severe chill spell and heavy snowfall affected the Sost-Khunjerab section of the KKH. In order to clear the road from land sliding and snow, pragmatic steps were undertaken and now the road is opened to all types of traffic.

 

It is to recall that NHA is endeavouring hard to make its network trafficable in recent severe cold season, and to this effect all resources are being utilized in the best possible manner to facilitate the commuters. NHA is also in close coordination with local and district administrations and extending full cooperation for the purpose.

Work on G-7/G-8 underpass at Faisal Avenue

Islamabad, January 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Work on G-7/G-8 underpass at Faisal Avenue has been resumed. Effective traffic management / diversion, in consultation of Islamabad Traffic Police, is being ensured to maintain the traffic flow on the avenue, while transplantation of trees, affected due to project, is also being carried out.

 

In the first phase excavation on the eastern side has been started. In order to maintain smooth traffic flow in the construction area, traffic emerging from Faisal Mosque leading to Zero point, Kashmir Highway etc. has been diverted on the Service Road (west) of Sector G-7 which has been already widened to accommodate the heavy traffic flow.

 

A modern tree transplanter is also being utilized to shift the grown pine cheer trees, affected due to construction work, at alternative place in the vicinity. In addition to transplantation of grown trees, 100 cheer (????) plants were also planted near this underpass so that on completion this project will not only ease the traffic flow on the avenue but would also add beauty to the city.

 

In line with the instructions of management, regarding ensuring smooth traffic flow on the avenue during the construction process, a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the vicinity in consultation with the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) and other concerned formations of the authority has also been prepared. For the implementation on traffic diversion plan, senior officers of Islamabad Traffic Police and officers of the concerned formation of the authority met at the site and finalized the diversion plan. In this context, proper traffic signs, diversion and warning boards have been installed at different places. Moreover, instructions have also been issued that proper cordoning of the area be made to avoid any untoward incident.

 

The construction of the under pass would be completed in six (06) months. The construction of this underpass on Faisal Avenue will not only improve the flow of traffic on Faisal Avenue, but will provide the swift access to the residents of Sector G-7 and G-8.

Transparency International Pakistan appreciates NAB’s performance

Islamabad, January 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Transparency International has released its report of 2019 on January 23, 2020 in which Chairman (TIP) said that the NAB under the current leadership of Justice Javed Iqbal has performed much better, and NAB been rejuvenated after it has taken various initiatives including Combined investigation Team (C T) system, in order to have collective wisdom in the conduct of inquiries/investigations on merit which is lending quality.

 

NAB has collected Rs. 153 billion from corrupt elements and filed 530 references and its overall conviction ratio in Accountability Courts is about 70%, besides, NAB’s effective media campaign to aware people about ill effects of corruption are commendable.

Rawalpindi, January 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Pakistan today conducted a successful training launch of surface to surface ballistic missile Ghaznavi, capable of delivering multiple types of warheads upto a range of 290 kilometres. The training launch was part of Field Training Exercise of Army Strategic Forces Command aimed at rehearsing operational readiness procedures during day and night.

 

The training launch was witness by Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Chairman NESCOM, senior officers from Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, Scientists and Engineers of the strategic organizations.

 

Director General Strategic Plans Division appreciated the operational preparedness of Army Strategic Forces Command for displaying a very high standard of proficiency in handling and operating the weapon system. He also expressed full confidence in the robust Strategic Command and Control System and the capability of Strategic Forces. The President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs have congratulated the nation on this landmark achievement.
