Early action helped Pakistan boost exports during pandemic: Bloomberg

Pakistan’s decision to loosen pandemic restrictions early has helped the country’s exports emerge stronger than its South Asian peers.

According to report published in Bloomberg, report said, the outbound shipments have grown at a faster pace than Bangladesh and India as textiles, which account for half of the total export, led the recovery.

The country saw total shipments grow 7% in September, compared with New Delhi’s 6% and Dhaka’s 3.5%.

According to the report, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s administration was the first in the region to ease pandemic restrictions, allowing export units to reopen in April, a month after locking them down to stem the spread of Covid-19.

Commerce Adviser expresses satisfaction over increase in pharmaceutical exports

Adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood has expressed satisfaction over the increase in pharmaceutical exports.

In a tweet on Monday, he said the Pharma exports have grown by 22.6 percent to 68.1 million dollars in the first quarter of current fiscal year as compared to 55.6 million dollars in the corresponding period last year.

The Adviser on Commerce said this has been achieved due to the hard work of Pharmaceutical exporters and renewed focus on exports.

Balochistan Secretary P&D urges for timely completion of projects

Provincial Secretary for Urban Planning and Development Balochistan Abdul Latif Kakar has directed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of ongoing developmental schemes for provision of facilities to public.

He expressed these views while talking to officers during inspecting on-going schemes at Kachhi Faizabad and Sibi Road projects.

Secretary said that it is imperative to expand the department’s offices to the divisional level in order to collect the data of homeless people for provision of housing facilities.

Kashmir dispute is all about Kashmiris’ right to self-determination: AJK PM

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider has said that Jammu and Kashmir dispute is the question of granting to Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self- determination in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Addressing All Parties Conference in Muzaffarabad, he said that Kashmiri people have been rendering unprecedented sacrifices for the last 73 years for the implementation of the UN Security council resolutions.

Farooq Haider also paid rich tributes to the people of Gilgit Baltistan for offering tremendous sacrifices for the liberation of their motherland from Dogra despotic rule.

Punjab Govt announces to hold ‘Revenue Public Service Courts’ across province today

Punjab government has announced to hold ‘Revenue Public Service Courts’ across the province on Monday.

In a statement, the Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar  said that services related to correction in the record, issuance of ‘Fard’, entry of transfer deeds, registry, Income certificate, inspection record, issuance of domicile and other matters related to revenue will be resolved at these courts.

He said that the officers concerned will remain present in Revenue Public Service Courts from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

AC conducts hearing of money laundering case against Shahbaz Sharif

An accountability court in Lahore on Monday conducted the hearing of money laundering case against the family of Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif.

During the proceedings, the NAB officials produced Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz before the court.

The copies of statements of four approvers were handed over to Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz.

The court, after hearing the arguments, has decided to indict the accused in money laundering case on 11th of this month.

Sindh Governor felicitates newly elected office-bears of KUJ

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has felicitated the newly elected office-bears of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ).

In his message, he expressed the hope that the new body would work for the welfare of the journalist community.

The Governor said that the elections of KUJ are clear example of democratic traditions in every sector.

He hoped that the elected body would use its energies for the rights and resolutions to the issues and problems of the journalists.

He further said that the democracy is strengthening in the country.
