Islamabad, December 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for Gilgit-Baltistan on day long visit. He will attend oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet of Gilgit-Baltistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan will also attend a briefing session in Gilgit on new national parks in the region.

Negotiations underway with UK to bring Nawaz Back: Akbar

Islamabad, December 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Adviser on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar has said negotiations are continuing with Britain for the deportation of Nawaz Sharif to the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Wednesday), he said Pakistan has also written a letter to Britain for this purpose.

He said Nawaz Sharif is a convicted person and he had gone to Britain for medical treatment after giving an undertaking.

Shahzad Akbar said PML (N) leader and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar stood totally exposed in the recent BBC interview. He said the interview made it clear as to why Dar is an absconder and not appearing before the courts.

The Adviser on Interior rejected the assertion made by Ishaq Dar that he has only one property in Lahore, Sharing details of his properties, he said the former finance minister has properties in Pakistan as well as in Dubai. He said the British authorities have also been requested for the extradition of Ishaq Dar.

He said the opposition parties have lost their relevance in the national politics and the PTI is the most popular party. He said one saw its manifestation in the recent elections in Gilgit Baltistan.

He said the people are also not attending the public gatherings of the opposition parties in large numbers. He said the opposition parties must act responsibly and stop playing with the lives of the people as the second wave of Covid-19 is proving to be more fatal.

In his remarks, Special Assistant on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill said the corrupt leaders sitting abroad should come back to the country and face the courts. He said these leaders plundered the national exchequer.

Pakistan reports 2,829 new COVID-19 cases, 75 deaths in last 24 hours

Islamabad, December 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Seventy-Five more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last twenty-four hours. According to the latest statistics, 2,829 tested positive for COVID-19 during the last twenty-four hours after the tests of 35,197 people. The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 345,365. There are now 49,780 active cases in the country.

Gilgit-Baltistan cabinet members sworn in today

Ishaq Dar failed to answer British Anchor Stephen Sackur: Shibli

Islamabad, December 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz says PML-N leader Ishaq Dar could not answer the questions of British Anchor Stephen Sackur and got confused in the face of truth.

In a tweet today, he said these people do not hesitate to even defame the country to defend their looting.

The Minister said the person who was an aide in a corrupt regime and destroyed economy of the country is healthy for an interview but ill to face court.

PM calls for collective efforts to check spread of COVID-19

Islamabad, December 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan says as health workers and hospitals are under severe pressure due to coronavirus, collective efforts are needed to check the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Presiding over the meeting of federal cabinet in Islamabad, he said the country requires serious decisions and attitudes at this moment to contain the pandemic.

The Prime Minister said holding public meetings amidst spike in deaths from COVID-19 in the country tantamount to playing with lives of people.

The cabinet approved reduction in price of 100 mg injection of REMDESIVIR from 9,244 to 5,680 rupees, which has proved effective in treatment of coronavirus.

The Prime Minister directed for timely purchase and ensuring availability of coronavirus vaccine.

The cabinet was also briefed in detail about the two mega projects, including the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development in Lahore and Bundle Island in Karachi, initiated by the present government.

The Prime Minister said both the projects are very important to curbing environmental pollution, earning precious foreign exchange and providing employment to people.

Exports increases to $2.156b in Nov, 2020: Dawood

Islamabad, December 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood says the country’s exports increased to 2.156 billion dollars last month as compared to 2.011 billion dollars in the same month last year.

In a statement on his official twitter account, the Adviser said the country’s exports have once again crossed the two billion dollars mark per month.

Razak Dawood said for the first five months of the current financial year, the exports have increased to 9.732 billion dollars as compared to 9.545 billion dollars over the same period last year.
