EU Disinfo Lab uncovers real dirty face of India: Ali Raza Syed

Brussels, December 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU), Ali Raza Syed has said, by revealing facts about Indian propaganda network, the EU Disifo Lab unmasked the real dirty face of India.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement, welcoming the investigations reported by EU Disinfo Lab concerning Indian secret disinformation network in Europe, said, this is a very important development.

It is important to mention that the findings of the EU Disinfo Lab revealed that the Indian propaganda network attempted to influence European parliamentarians in Brussels and as well as UN’s Human Rights Council in Geneva. The network was trying to achieve its goals through suspected and fake NGOs, more than 700 fake media outlets and fabricated or stolen identities of other people.

He said India is creating negative impression against Pakistan for a long time as well as by the launching propaganda; it hides severe violations of human rights in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The pro-India secret network was not only involved in negative propaganda against Pakistan but it was also keeping atrocities committed by the Indian forces in IIOJK out of sight of the world. Reality is that falsehood cannot prevail for a long time. It should be uncovered and unveiled sooner or later.

Ali Raza Syed said, since last year by revoking the special status of IIOJK, India increased its brutal acts of state terrorism in the territory and the people of Kashmir are even deprived of their basic rights. Not only the people of IIOJK but lower castes and religious minorities in India are also not safe from the Indian state brutalities, he added.

The KC-EU Chairman urged the international community and especially the European Union not to be impressed by the Indian propaganda.

Ali Raza Syed stressed that he and his organization, KC-EU, would continue efforts to defuse the disinformation and negative Indian propaganda and would raise the voice against the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory.

India banks on fake news for real news being bad: President

Lahore, December 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): President Dr Arif Alvi has said that running its anti-Pakistan propaganda set ups through front companies, India banked on fake news for the real new being bad.

Commenting on investigation and an extensive report by EU DisinfoLab exposing fake media outlets running anti-Pakistan campaign, the president said the vast pro-India, anti-Pakistan, fake news and disinformation set up existed since 2005. It had grown vast with 750 media outlets despite exposure last year.

According to the report, a dead professor and numerous defunct organisations were resurrected and used alongside at least 750 fake media outlets in a vast 15-year global disinformation campaign to serve Indian interests.

“All done (through) front companies. Real news is bad so India banks on fake news,” the president remarked.

“It is the largest network we have exposed” said Alexandre Alaphilippe, executive director of EU DisinfoLab. The network was designed primarily to “discredit Pakistan internationally” and influence decision-making at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and European Parliament, EU DisinfoLab said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan warns world ‘rogue Indian regime’ threatens global stability

Islamabad, December 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan has warned the world of the “rogue Indian regime”, which he said was now threatening “the stability of the global system”.

PM Imran Khan’s remarks came hours after India’s 15-year-long information warfare operation to malign Pakistan around the world was uncovered by an independent Europe-focused NGO, the EU DisinfoLab.

“Pakistan has consistently drawn attention of int community to India’s subversive activities to undermine democracies in the region; and export/ fund extremism through structures of fake news orgs and ‘think tanks’,” the premier said on Twitter.

“Recently GoP provided dossier to UN of India’s state terrorism in Pakistan,” he added, referring to proofs that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said New Delhi was unable to respond to.

He also underlined the revelations made by EU DisinfoLab “on the widespread Indian network of subversive activities vindicates Pakistan’s position and exposes its detractors”.

“The international community needs to take notice of a rogue Indian regime that now threatens the stability of the global system,” PM Imran Khan wrote.

Earlier in the day, the EU DisinfoLab had revealed over 750 Indian-backed websites covering more than 119 countries that were operational for a decade-and-a-half with the sole purpose of undermining Pakistan within the European Union and United Nations.

The operation was termed the Indian Chronicles by the EU DisinfoLab. The NGO disclosed that the Srivastava Group backed the operation, while a leading Indian news agency — Asian News International (commonly known as ANI) — was used to boost it.

The campaign had started in 2005 and is still functional, it had revealed.

Shabbir Dar visits bereaved family of advocate Majid Rather

Srinagar, December 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC), Shabbir Ahmed Dar, today, visited the bereaved family of Advocate Abdul Majid Rather, who passed away recently.

The uncle of the deceased, Abdul Salaam Rather, is a prominent Hurriyat leader and a renowned legal luminary of the territory who always extends his helping hand to those in need, particularly associated with the freedom struggle.

Speaking to the mourners, Shabbir Ahmed Dar said that the Indian fascist regime has made the lives of people of IIOJK and all the minorities in India miserable because of its extremist and expansionist policies.

The concept of Akhand Bharat, which is the core of RSS policy, is a global threat which if not anticipated and stopped now will prove disastrous for the world peace and prosperity, he added.

Shabbir Ahmed Dar said, the extremist policies of the terror group have now got the strength because of the government backing as can be seen by building temple in the place of a mosque.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased Advocate, Abdul Majid Rather.

Foreign Minister urges world to help end HR violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad, December 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the world Human Rights bodies to act decisively in ending the human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He was addressing a seminar in connection with the International Human Rights Day in Islamabad.

The Foreign Minister stressed on the world bodies to call upon India to constitute a commission of inquiry and allow unhindered access to human rights organisations and the international media in IIOJK.

He said basic and inalienable human rights of the people of IIOJK are being trampled with impunity by India. He said innocent people of the Occupied Kashmir are suffering systematic and serial violations of their fundamental freedoms.

Giving a review of the situation in IIOJK, the Foreign Minister said India has turned the valley into the largest prison on the planet where basic amenities and means of communication are not accessible. He said shops and hospitals in the region are running out of supplies and the political leadership of Kashmir have been placed under house arrest or imprisoned.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said with its illegal actions, India is breaching multiple international human rights instruments that it was a party to.

He reiterated that India’s unilateral decision to revoke Article 370 on August 5 was illegal under international law.

EU DisinfoLab report: Pakistan slams India’s propaganda, warns against false flag operation

Islamabad, December 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri slammed India’s smear campaign against Pakistan, reminding the world that New Delhi was planning a false flag operation against Islamabad.

Pakistan has time and again hinted at New Delhi’s designs to conduct a false flag operation to attack Pakistan in a bid to divert attention away from its internal problems and issues.

Citing the recent report by EU DisinfoLab, Chaudhri, addressing a press conference, said that the research backs Pakistan’s position against India and that all relevant facts were stated in it.

“India failed to tarnish Pakistan’s reputation despite such moves […] this propaganda is a part of India’s campaign against Pakistan,” the spokesperson noted.

He urged India to focus on its problems instead of working on instigating instability in the region. “The biases and discriminatory laws against minorities in India are in front of the world.”

Similarly, reacting to the development, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that it came as no surprise that the disinformation campaign was backed by India.

“15 year global disinfo campaign designed in attempt to discredit [Pakistan] internationally and influence global decision making. ‘Incredible [India]’, powered by fascist ideals and disinfo that even puts Goebbels to shame,” he added.

More than 750 Indian backed websites covering over 119 countries have been operational for about 15 years with the sole purpose of undermining Pakistan within the European Union and United Nations, a report on investigative research conducted by the EU DisinfoLab revealed on Wednesday.

The operation has been given a name — the Indian Chronicles.

EU DisinfoLab’s investigation reveals that the Srivastava Group backed the operation, while a leading Indian news agency — Asian News International (commonly known as ANI) — was used to boost it.

This campaign started in 2005 and is still functional.

India’s aim? To discredit countries in conflict with it, with a focus on Pakistan and to some extent, China.

The EU DisinfoLab highlighted the operation’s long-term objectives, which included promoting content against Pakistan and China and to consolidate power for India at international forums such as the EU and UN.

To pursue their objective, the operation appeared to support minorities, human rights NGOs, and think-tanks. It also created an illusion of institutional support from European institutions to these minority groups against Pakistan and China.

At the United Nations’ Human Rights Council, the operation was used to arrange side-events and demonstrations in support of minority rights, impersonate extinguished UN-accredited NGOs and use speaking slots reserved to various NGOs whose original missions seem unrelated.

Fake media was created in Brussels, Geneva and across the world and then repackaged and disseminated via ANI and obscure local media networks — at least in 97 countries — to multiply the repetition of online negative content about countries in conflict with India.
