Kashmiris determined to continue their struggle for freedom: Masood

Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has said that in spite of India’s repression the people of Indian Illegal occupied Jammu and Kashmir are determined to continue their struggle for their freedom and right to self-determination.

He was commenting on the latest report compiled and released by Sweden’s V-Dem Institute which stated that India is no longer an “electoral democracy” but it has become an “electoral autocracy”.

He said India’s false narrative on Kashmir is getting fast exposed to the world and the time is not far off when the tyrant and oppressors would be brought to justice.

Govt ensuring merit, transparency in country: Haji Noor

Balochistan Minister for Public Health Engineering, Haji Noor Muhammad Dumar has said incumbent government is ensuring merit and transparency in the country in true sense.

In a statement, he said no compromise would be made on elimination of corruption from the country.

Haji Noor Muhammad Dumar said the country is advancing towards progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Shabaan moon not sighted; first Shabaan on Tuesday

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced today (Sunday) that the moon of Shabaan 1442 AH has not been sighted and the month will commence on Tuesday, the 16th March.

This announcement was made by the committee after a meeting held in Islamabad today with Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad in chair.

Punjab Culture Day celebrated in a befitting manner

First ever Punjab Culture Day was celebrated across the province in a befitting manner today (Sunday).

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, in his message on the occasion, said the purpose of observing the day is to inculcate love, brotherhood and unity in the society as promotion of culture is vital for national cohesion.

He said Punjabi culture has a unique place at the international level and the soil of Punjab has the fragrance of affection, hospitality and kindness.

On this occasion, all the commissioners were directed to arrange city branding in their respective divisions, including display of banners and streamers.

All the heads of departments, including commissioners, regional police officers, deputy commissioners and district police officers in Punjab were instructed to wear Punjabi Turban and traditional dresses on Punjab Culture Day and upload their pictures on their social media accounts to highlight rich culture of the province.

Govt taking steps to increase forest cover in country: Amin Aslam

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said the government is taking steps to increase forest cover in the country.

Talking to media persons in Quetta, he said target of planting 10 billion trees in the country is being achieved through public-private partnership.

Malik Amin Aslam said Pakistan is among the top 10 most affected countries due to climate change and rising temperature has adversely affected Balochistan and tree plantation is required to mitigate these effects.
