Country’s exports witness record increase of 25% in 1st half of FY21-22: Farrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the country’s exports had reached over 15 billion dollars during first half of the current fiscal year.

In a tweet, he said that a record increase of 25 percent in exports has been achieved due to special measures taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said that only in December the exports were 2.761 billion dollars with 32 percent surge as compared to same month of the fiscal year 2020-21.

The Minister expressed confidence that if this pace continues, the country would witness the history’s highest-ever growth of 30 billion dollars in this sector by end of the current fiscal year.

Record production of 5 crops achieved due to govt’s prudent economic policies: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that economic stability is returning to Pakistan due to prudent economic policies of the government.

Talking to media in Karachi on Sunday, he said the government is paying special attention to the agriculture sector and record production has been achieved in five crops.

Talking about health facilities, he asked the Sindh government to launch a health card scheme in the province.

Earlier, in a tweet, the Information Minister said Health Card facility is now fully available in Lahore Division of Punjab.

He said all families residing in Punjab will be eligible for availing medical treatment annually upto one million rupees in next 45 days.

The Minister said the government will bear all the expenses on health treatment of the people under this revolutionary programme.

Around 45,000 low-cost housing units under construction across country

Around 45,000 Low Cost Housing Units are under construction across the country under Naya Pakistan Housing scheme.

This was informed at the meeting of Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority Policy Board held in Islamabad, with its Chairman Lt. General (Retd) Anwar Ali Hyder in the chair.

The meeting was informed that with facilitation offered by the government, the private sector has submitted 317 proposals to the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority for construction of more than three million housing units.

Similarly the banks have received 70,858 loan applications worth 269.8 billion ruprees under the scheme and an amount of 33.4 billion rupees has been disbursed against 9,964 applications.

Planning Minister warns against new wave of Covid-19 variant Omicron in country

Minister for Planning Asad Umar has warned against a new wave of COVID-19 with new variant named Omicron in the country.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said there are clear evidence of a beginning of another Covid wave which has been expected for last few weeks.

The minister advised the people to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures including wearing face masks.

Meanwhile addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said the federal government has spent 250 billion rupees from its budget to procure COVID vaccines.

Asad Umar said as per its target, the government has vaccinated over 70 million people by December, 2021.

Responding to a tweet by a PPP leader saying the Sindh Province was unable to procure vaccine as per law, the minister said there is no law that stop any province from purchasing vaccines.

Asad Umar said that the country and the provinces cannot move forward without empowered local governments.

He said that 18th Amendment greatly increased the powers of the provinces.

PM directs for allocation of funds for Lillah Jhelum dual carriageway

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed for allocation of funds in the development budget of Punjab for completion of Lillah Jhelum dual carriageway by March 2023.

He appreciated the efforts of Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain for giving practical shape to the project.

Govt launches best health insurance project for welfare of masses: Farrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has introduced exemplary health insurance project for the welfare of poor segment of society.

Talking to media persons in Multan on Sunday, he said each deserving family will avail treatment facility worth one million rupees through health card.

He said educated youth is being provided with loans of five hundred thousand rupees each so that they can earn their livelihood easily.

He said that ten dams are being built in the country which will help in producing cheaper electricity.

He said steps are being taken to ensure availability of Urea fertilizers to the farmers with providing required gas to the fertilizer producing units.
