24 killed in road accident in Upper Kohistan

At least twenty-four people were killed when a vehicle carrying them plunged into River Indus in district upper Kohistan.

Ten dead bodies of the passengers whose vehicle met an accident while crossing a wooden bridge in Kohistan last night, have been recovered from river.

According to police, rescue teams and volunteers are still engaged in search operation for remaining bodies.

Two persons have been rescued in injured conditions while fourteen people are still missing.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has expressed deep sorrow over the sad incident in Upper Kohistan.

In a statement in Peshawar today, he expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls as well as early recovery of the injured.

He directed the concerned authorities to provide better healthcare to the injured.
