Islamabad: Islamabad Police have arrested 75 persons involved in street crimes during the current year and recovered 76 mobile phones and looted cash from their possession, a police spokesman said.
On the directions of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik asked all police officials and Station House Offices (SHOs) to launch aggressive campaign against those involved in street crime.
During this drive, the capital police obtained the record of those persons who had ever remained involved in street crimes and arrested 75 criminals.
SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has directed all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure effective patrolling in their jurisdictions and take stern action against the anti-social elements.
He also directed to ensure vigilance against the suspects and make effective checking at all entry and exit points of the city. “It is our prime responsibility to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens. Those police officials involved in dereliction of duties or adopting sluggish attitude would not be spared and strict disciplinary action would be taken against them,” the SSP maintained.
