Administrator Karachi cancels leave of essential services staff

Karachi, June 08, 2015 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Saqib Ahmed Soomro has cancelled the leave of all the officers and other staff of essential services department of KMC after declaring state of emergency in these departments ahead of the forecast of expected cyclone and rains. Speaking in a meeting held in Civic Centre on Monday he directed all the staff of these departments to remain on their duty till further orders.

Administrator Saqib Soomro said KMC has completed all preparations in this connection and in case of any emergency situation all the staff of KMC including KMC Administrator will be on roads and the citizens would not have to face any difficulty. He said a little bit problems do exit everywhere in rains, however the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation was fully equipped and ready to deal with any emergency situation.

Emergency was declared in the Municipal Services, Health and Medical Services, Engineering, Parks and Recreation and other essential services departments of KMC with the directive that staff will remain on duty in three shifts which mean round the clock working. He also instructed that all required machinery, equipments and vehicles must be in ready condition so that these could be dispatched anywhere in the city. The doctors and paramedics must be on their duty with all required medicines and equipments to provide instant medical help to the citizens.
