Anti-India protests, Yasin Malik arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar, September 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, massive anti-India protests erupted after Indian police personnel shot at and injured three civilians and arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in Srinagar.

Mohammad Yasin Malik was arrested by Indian police after he led a sit-in protest at Maisuma against the injuring of three civilians including Muhammad Iqbal Sheikh by Indian Central Reserve Police Force personnel at Budshah Chowk in Srinagar.

Police personnel used brute force to disperse the protesters who retaliated with stone pelting, triggering clashes that were going on till last reports came in. On the other hand, at least 14 policemen and a civilian were injured in a grenade blast at Muran Chowk in Pulwama.

Meanwhile, APHC, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front have called for a shutdown on Sunday against the killing of four civilians by Indian Central Reserve Police Force in Shopian.
