Anti Narcotics Force recovers 2.1 ton drugs worth Rs 432 8 million, conducts 6 operations at Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan

Islamabad, April 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): ANF in 6 operations seized 2.1 Ton Opium, 9 Kgs Heroin and 1.2 Kgs Charas from Qila Abdullah, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Lahore. Recovered drugs were mostly destined abroad and amounts approximately Rs 4 Arab and 32 Crore in International Market.

As per details, ANF Quetta acting upon a source information seized 2164 Kgs Opium concealed in folds of mountainous terrain at an uninhabited area of killi Bashore, Tehsil Haramazai, District Qilla Abdullah. The riding party laid a discrete trap to apprehend the smugglers, however the area didn’t warrant prolonged stay, hence arrest could not be materialized. Reportedly the location was being used as a transa ction point between 2 Narcotics Gangs. As per information, t he drugs were to be smuggle d abroad via Gwadar.

ANF Peshawar on source information seized 7.7 Kgs Heroin and 2.2 Kgs of unidentified drug / compound, which has been sent for laboratory test. The drugs were placed in a bag and concealed under bushes of an empty plot near Dr. A.Q Khan School, Ring Road, Peshawar. The surveillance was placed for 8 hours, however couldn’t m eet success.

ANF Peshawar Airport team arrested Khaista Gul son of Niamat Gul resident of Charsadda and recovered 750 Gms of fine quality Heroin (ice). The drugs were tactfully concealed in his hand baggage. He was to travel by Shaheen Airline, Flight No. NL – 721 and was destined for Jeddah.

ANF Rawalpindi intercepted consignment and recovered 750 Gms off – white Heroin, tactfully concealed in side wooden stools. The delivery was packed in 2 cartons and drug was hidden in cavities created inside stools legs. The consignment was dispatched from Jhang and was destined for Hungary.

ANF Lahore on source information arrested Abdullah s/o Sunab Gul r/o Khyber Agency and recovered 1.2 Kg Charas from his personal possession. The drugs were placed in a packet and were intercepted near Abdullah Travels, Band Road, Lahore. All accused have been arrested, cases registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
