Anti Narcotics Task Force organises 7th meeting of Inter Agency Task Force

Islamabad, September 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): Complying to “Anti Narcotics Policy”, and to utilize optimum potential of all LEAs against Drugs, ANF organized 7th meeting of Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) on 5th Sep 2013, at HQ ANF. The meeting was chaired by Director General ANF, Major General Malik Zafar Iqbal and attended by Senior Officials of 22 Law Enforcement Agencies from all over the Country.

ANF presented latest Drug Situation and apprised National Drug-seizure Data. Afterward, all LEAs presented their performance on Narcotics Control. During the meeting significant points discussed relates to eradication of procedural anomalies in Drug Control, Enhanced Interaction, Information Sharing and Coordination of Efforts.

During the conference special emphasis was laid on local level coordination of all LEAs with ANF Regional Directorates present at Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. ANF being the premier Drug Law Enforcement Agency, offered its services to all other LEAs, in dealing with any difficulty to curb the Drug Menace.

Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) is considered as a potent forum against Drug Control. It is pertinent to mention that in recent past, under this forum many joint operations have been conducted which have resulted in mega seizures.

DG ANF emphasized on joining hands together for crushing the menace of drugs. It was decided that a number of steps would be taken to enhance the performance and same would be reviewed during next conference in December.
