Asian Development Bank appreciates services of National Highways and Motorway Police

Islamabad, January 31, 2013 (PPI-OT): A delegation of Asian Development Bank is on Pakistan’s tour now a days regarding Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation program. The delegation visited the National Highways and Motorway Police Headquarters, Islamabad under the supervision of Mr. John Standing Ford, Transport planner/ Team leader of Asian Development Bank and met with Inspector General, NH and MP, Zafar Abbas Lak. They discussed the Transport related issues and Road Safety problems in Pakistan.

On this occasion IG, NH and MP told them NH and MP is working the best to sort out transport problems and to spread awareness regarding Road Safety. He said under instructions of President of Pakistan NH and MP is establishing Road Safety Training Institutes in major cities of Pakistan to assure eradication of accidents in Pakistan.

The delegation of Asian Development Bank already heard through transparency International that Motorway Police is a corruption free department in Pakistan and it is the standard of the work. It’s a matter of proud that it has progressed a lot in short duration of time. There is no doubt about there commendable services. In the end IG, NH and MP Zafar Abbas Lak presented a shield to Mr. John Standing Ford.
