T-20 PEACE CUP: PAKISTAN XI BEAT UK MEDIA XI BY 133 RUNS

Pakistan XI have defeated UK Media XI by 133 runs in a T-20 Peace Cup match at Younus Khan Stadium in Miran Shah, North Waziristan on Thursday.

Chasing a victory target of 254 runs, UK Media Eleven were all out for 120 runs.

Meanwhile, Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that successful hosting of Peace Cup matches between Pakistan XI and UK Media XI has proved that Pakistan is a peaceful and sports loving country.

Speaking on the sidelines of the match, he said terrorism has been wiped out from North Waziristan Agency and the successful holding of the cricket match between Pakistan XI and UK Media XI showed the return of complete peace and normalcy in the agency.

Major General Asif Ghafoor vowed that terrorism will never be allowed to regain stronghold in the region again.

He said the Peace Cup is the only beginning and we will hold more such events in future, adding that a large number of people from faraway areas of FATA watched today's match.

The DG ISPR said life is back to normal in FATA, and process of rehabilitation of the Internally Displaced People has almost been completed.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Corps Commander Peshawar, Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt and other authorities watched the match.
