Islamabad: On a special invitation from the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a Bahraini parliamentary delegation led by Ahmed Bin Salman Al Musallam, President of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain, will visit Pakistan from February 16 to 19, 2025. The visit aims to explore opportunities in trade, investment, and business between the two countries.
According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the longstanding and robust relationship between Pakistan and Bahrain, which is rooted in shared religious, cultural, and historical values. He noted that these commonalities have fostered mutual respect and understanding, allowing for fruitful bilateral cooperation across various domains.
The Speaker highlighted the pivotal role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups (PFGs) in strengthening ties between the two nations. By facilitating direct communication between lawmakers, these exchanges enable both countries to better understand each other’s priorities and address mutual challenges. The delegation’s visit is seen as a crucial step toward enhancing these parliamentary exchanges.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also pointed out the immense potential for growth in trade and investment, particularly in Pakistan’s agricultural sector. He stated that by expanding bilateral trade in agriculture and food security industries, both countries could benefit from increased market access and economic diversification. This aligns with Bahrain’s vision to diversify its economy beyond oil exports.
In addition to economic collaboration, the Speaker acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Bahrain, which plays a vital role in the development of both countries. The diaspora’s involvement aids in deepening social and cultural ties, promoting mutual understanding at the grassroots level.
Ambassador of Bahrain to Pakistan, Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Abdulqadar, expressed appreciation for the Speaker’s initiatives. He emphasized that parliamentary exchanges are essential for fostering greater bilateral cooperation and facilitating cross-cultural dialogue.
