Karachi, April 30, 2018 (PPI-OT): Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Senior Vice President and Chairman, Budget Advisory Council of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has informed that the government has formulated three committees each on budget anomaly, export package and GIDC to address the issues expeditiously, before passing of the Finance Bill, 2018 by the National Assembly.
The President Ghazanfar Bilour and Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Sr. Vice President of the FPCCI showing mix reaction on the Federal Budget 2018-19 announced on 27 April, 2018 expressed their gratitude and thanks to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Commerce Minister and Chairman FBR for giving due importance to the FPCCI budgetary proposals and incorporating most of them in the Finance Bill, 2018. However, they showed concerns on some of the fiscal measures as proposed vide Finance Bill.
The SVP of the FPCCI hoped that the anomalies of the Federal Budget 2018-19 would be addressed in the Anomaly Committee Meeting. In this respect, he referred to the issues relating to all sort of refunds, Further Tax, GIDC, Pharmaceutical Industry, Commercial Importers, LPG, Construction Industry and other major issues of the Finance Bill, 2018.
Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, SVP informed that Miftah Ismail has very kindly agreed to visit the FPCCI Head Office Karachi in the current week and hold a meeting with the business community. This would be his first ever visit to any trade body after assuming the portfolio of Finance Minister, he added.
