Islamabad, April 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): Continuing its streak of recognition for diversity and inclusion efforts and practices, the country’s top digital and telecom services provider, Telenor Pakistan, has won the ‘Diversity and Inclusion Best Practice Award’ in Category 1: D and I Vision, Strategy and Business Case of the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks (GDIB).

The award was conferred to Telenor Pakistan at the HR Metrics’ Annual Diversity and Inclusion Conference and Awards 2019.

Receiving the coveted award, Lene Gaathaug, Telenor Pakistan’s Chief People Officer, said,

We don’t see diversity and inclusion in isolation, but rather as a core value embedded into our organizational culture. This serves as a source of innovation and a means to growth and success for us. I thank HR Metrics for acknowledging our efforts through this award and laud my team at Telenor Pakistan for developing and promoting an exemplary working environment that gives its employees an equal opportunity to grow and realize their potential without any discrimination.

Telenor Pakistan has championed diversity and inclusion on many occasions before. A testament to this is the HR Metrics’ ‘Best Practice Award’ that Telenor Pakistan won in 2018 for Diversity and Inclusion in the category of ‘Flexibility, Work life Integration, and Benefits.’

In December 2018, Telenor Pakistan also won the Employer of Choice Award for Gender Balance by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Pakistan Business Council (PBC) and another accolade at the OICCI Women Empowerment Awards while competing against 39 other organizations.
