Karachi, July 25, 2019 (PPI-OT): Capt. A. Moiz Khan, Patron in Chief, North Karachi Association of Industry (NKATI), Syed Tariq Rasheed, President, have requested 30-day extension of the Gas supply date at the OGRA subsidized rate for registered Manufacturers and Exporting units, as the proposed procedure requires some time to complete the documentation, which is not possible in just a few days.
In a Statement, NKATI Leaders, again requested to review SSGC decision and accept Town Association’s recommendation letters for providing relief to industries by Charging Gas Tariff at Rs.786 per MMBTU gas tariff, but SSGC is still deliberately delaying the matter, which is affecting productive activities. Captain A. Moiz Khan and Syed Tariq Rasheed added that, rejecting of Town Associations’ recommendations by SSGC and accepting only Trade Associations’ recommendations, totally unjustified, which triggered a wave of unrest in the Industrialists.
“North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) has been registered as a representative of the industry in the Directorate General of Trade Organizations, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Commerce, then How can SSGC rejects NKATI recommendations, As Trade Association cannot verify our members Manufacturers and Exporting units”, they said. NKATI leaders requested the SSGC to ensure delivery of OGRA subsidized gas tariff at Rs.786 to Manufacturing and Export units of North Karachi Industrial Area and accept the recommendations of Town Associations.
