Karachi, February 28, 2020 (PPI-OT): Mr. Capt. A. Moiz Khan, patron in chief, North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) and Mr. Naseem Akhtar, president has expressed deep concern and anger over announcement by K-Electric of expected forced Industrial load-shedding with the beginning of summer as result of their cash flow constraints of Rs.50 billion from the Government of Sindh.
In an emergency meeting, NKATI leaders said that the raised conflict between the Government of Sindh and K-Electric will lead to the power breakdown in Karachi Industrial Zone which has already been victim of the unexpected power closures from the past decades, the production and the capacity of our Industry has struggled long enough and increased tax and power scarcity has made it impossible to run the operations.
Mr. Capt. A. Moiz Khan and Mr. Naseem urged to solve the issue and said why the Industries of Karachi has to suffer despite being K-Electric’s major customer and has been ensuring timely payments of the bills and high recovery rate always, this industry has been playing major role in running the economy of the country.
NKATI leaders said that if the situation remains same the industries will be compelled to shutdown therefore to avoid the crackdown we request Government of Sindh and K-Electric to resolve this matter at their earliest so that industries of Karachi can be at relief and also to consider our genuine demand to provide uninterrupted electricity supply to the Karachi Industrial Area.
