Islamabad, October 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): 11 officers of Balochistan Government and 3 officers of Gilgit Baltistan Government currently undergoing training at Pakistan Provincial Services Academy Peshawar visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Mr. Turab Khan Jadoon, Deputy Director, PPSA for having an interaction with business community and know their ideas about improving the economy.
Addressing the officers, Shaban Khalid, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that bureaucracy and business community are two important stakeholders of the economy and they should work together to contribute positively for the economic development of country.
He said bureaucracy should play the role of a facilitator for promoting business activities as its cooperation can contribute significantly in fostering better economic growth of the country. He said business community is not against the bureaucracy; rather it needs the support of administration to expand business activities.
He said we should discourage negative elements and develop close liaison between public and private sectors which is crucial for strengthening the economy. He also briefed the officers about the role and functions of ICCI for promoting the interests of business and economy.
Shaban Khalid urged upon the trainee officers that they should always keep the national interest supreme during their professional career and work the honesty and dedication for the development of Pakistan.
Speaking at the occasion, Turab Khan Jadoon, Deputy Director, Pakistan Provincial Services Academy Peshawar said that besides the academic curricula and classroom lectures, the provincial trainee officers are also taken on study tours to various organizations of national significance.
He said the purpose of their visit to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to provide them an opportunity of interaction with private sector so that they could understand businessmen perception to facilitate the promotion of economic activities.
He hoped that their visit would play positive role to bridge the gap between public and private sectors and make valuable addition to their knowledge about the dynamics of economy.
