Peshawar, June 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): In pursuance of instructions of Kifayatullah Khan, Commissioner Mardan, a thorough campaign has been launched against the fake/ unhygienic drinks and foods items in Mardan Division.
Deputy Commissioner Mardan Ghulam Habib Khan, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Mardan, Additional AC-V, Local Police, officials from health and Food Departments and MC officials on Wednesday raided a fake/unhygienic soft drink factory in Mayar, Mardan.

The factory was in operational condition and was producing different kind of beverages and used the labels of various multinational companies. The machinery, bottles and containers were in very unhygienic conditions. Samples were taken from different beverages by the food department for examination by the concerned laboratories. The food department officials were also directed to examine the samples.
During the raid; 3 bottling machines, one cylinder of carbon dioxide, one mixture machine, one water pump, 3 large buckets containing juice, one large sized drum, one thousand empty bottles in dirty condition, 300 packed juice bottles and 50 large sacks of empty bottles were confined to a room and were sealed.
During the course of proceedings, Kamran (Accused) exhibited forged certificate issued from the District Health Officer, relating to health of the workers, said a special report issued by Commissioner Mardan Division Mardan.
