Capital Development Authority to start cleanliness drive from 12th February

Islamabad, February 02, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Mr. Maroof Afzal has said that CDA will start a cleanliness drive in the city from 12th of February 2014 . The cleanliness drive will initially focus on six sectors including I-10, I-9,G-10, G-9,F-7 and F-6.The motive behind this initiative is to provide hygienic atmosphere to the citizens of Islamabad. The Chairman expressed these views while chairing a meeting to review overall cleanliness situation in the city. The meeting was attended by high officials of concerned formations of the Authority.

As prelude to robust cleanliness drive, the Authority will initiate an awareness campaign in the city. The purpose behind the awareness campaign is to sensitize the citizens and invite their co-operation towards the upcoming drive in particular and day to day co-operation in general, the Chairman further said.

The Chairman CDA during the meeting further said that CDA and the residents of the Capital city are equal stakeholders in the well being of the city. CDA is utilizing best of its energies and resources to improve sanitary conditions in the city. The residents of the city should also contribute to keep Islamabad green and clean.

The Chairman CDA directed all the concerned formations of the Authority to gear up themselves for the upcoming cleanliness drive. The Chairman further directed the concerned formations to make sure the cleanliness of the city on daily basis. The cleanliness of major avenues of Islamabad, besides residential areas should be given priority. An inclusive plan of action should be formulated to make certain the daily based cleanliness of the principal avenues of the city, he further directed.
