Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah pays surprise visit of Sindh Secretariat, warns strict action against absentees

Karachi, June 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah paid a surprise visit of Sindh Secretariat and Tughliq House on Tuesday Morning. He visited different sections of New Sindh Secretariat including Food, Works and Services, Health departments and Chief Secretary Office. During the visit of Chief Minister Sindh Secretaries of Food and Health were not present in their offices. Later CM Sindh arrived at Tughliq House and visited different offices. CM Sindh discussed in details different financial matters of Annual development programme (ADP) with Addl.

Chief Secretary Finance Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan. CM Sindh inquired about the details of allocated and issued funds to different administrative departments including Irrigation, Health, Communication’s and Public Health and Engineering departments. ACS ( P and D) Mr. Arif Ahmmed Khan Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput and other concerned officers briefed CM Sindh in detail about various financial matters. CM directed the Chief Secretary Sindh to ensure the punctuality of the officers and staff and taking strict action against the absent officers and staff.

He said that he will continue surprise visits of various government offices and will review the performance of the officers personally “ Any negligence by any officer in solving of public grievance will not be tolerated and strict action will be initiated against them” CM Sindh warned.

While visiting the office of Secretary services CM Sindh asked the Secretary Service to immediately provide report about appointments in various departments during caretaker government so that these appointments will be reviewed. Talking to media after visit CM Sindh said that purpose of Sindh Secretariat’s surprise visit was to check the attendance of officers and other staff and to know that public problems were being solved or not.

He added that some secretaries and deputy secretaries were absent and they will be served explanation. In reply to a question CM Sindh said that to provide better transport facilities to the residents of Metropollis initially 200 new buses would be provided and new buses will be provided to other areas of the province. He added that buses running on Karachi roads are in poor condition and public were facing hardships.
