Children are the guarantee of the bright future – Minister for Social Welfare

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development Sitara Ayaz has said that children are the guarantee of the bright future and we would never tolerate the children’s exploitation. The elements, those bringing the children on the roads and streets and involve in child labour would be dealt with iron hand.

This she expressed while presiding over the 5th meeting of Child Protection and Welfare Commission held in Peshawar on Monday. The children, being forced for beggary in the streets and child labour, would be taken into the custody and handed over to their parents and guardians after getting surety bond from the parents for the children’s security and children’s rights and better brought up through the special courts established for the children’s rights and security.

However the helpless children would be handed over to the child protection Bureau and child protection units for their security welfare and their best care. There, they would be provided with all those facilities that the other children enjoys so that their bright future would be ensured and they can also play their active role in development and progress of the nation and the country.

On this occasion, Sahibzada Fazle Amin, Director Social Welfare Imtiaz Ayub, Deputy Chief Child Protection Ijaz Muhammad Khan, Ahmad Farooq Khattak Advocate and other members of commission were also present. The meeting also agreed to improve the child welfare fund and establishing the child protection units in various districts of the province that the child protection rights must be ensured.
