China hands over 2,950 tents to National Disaster Management Authority for earthquake affectees

Islamabad, January 25, 2016 (PPI-OT): As a gesture of solidarity with the Pakistani brethren and in continuation to the Relief Goods provided during Earthquake of October 2015, the Peoples Republic of China has extended humanitarian relief assistance in the form of an additional tranche of 2,950 tents to the Government of Pakistan. On behalf of the Government of China Ambassador Sun Weidong handed over relief consignment to Chairman NDMA Major General Asghar Nawaz at NDMA Warehouse Islamabad today.

Talking on the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador expressed and reiterated resolve of Chinese People to stand by the people of Pakistan, in combating the natural disasters. He also appreciated the Government of Pakistan for ensuring immediate response and provision of timely relief assistance to earthquake affected population. Chairman NDMA thanked the Chinese Ambassador for the support extended by the Peoples Republic of China.
