China reiterates stance, calls for peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute

Beijing, March 18, 2020 (PPI-OT): China reiterated that the Kashmir issue was a dispute left from history, and should be properly and peacefully resolved based on the UN Security Council resolutions. “China opposes any unilateral actions that complicate the situation,” according to a joint statement issued by Chinese Foreign Ministry at the conclusion of the two-day visit of President Dr Arif Alvi to China.

 

Both sides exchanged views on the situation in occupied Kashmir. The Pakistan side briefed the Chinese side on the latest developments, including its concerns, position, and current urgent issues, the statement said.

 

The Chinese side underscored that it was paying close attention to the current situation in occupied Kashmir and reiterated that the Kashmir issue was a dispute left from history, and should be properly and peacefully resolved based on the UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreements, the statement maintained.
