Karachi, January 26, 2016 (PPI-OT): A high power Chinese delegation of Sino -Hydro and Power China Company called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and showed their interest to install a coal-based power plant, cement factory, water project for Karachi and red line transport project worth over $ 4billion. The Chinese delegation comprises Mr Zhang Ping, Jiang Ning’an and others. The Sindh government was led by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Principal Secretary to CM Alamuddin Bullo, Secretary Transport Taha Farooqui and other concerned officers.
Briefing the chief minister they said that their company had constructed K-3 water project for Karachi and again their company was interested to construct K-4 water project for the city. They said that they had already applied for installation of a coal-fired power project of 600 MW at Port Qasim. “We have almost completed all the formalities only government has to issue them NOC to start the project,” they said.
They also said that the project of cement factory was also at the final stage. They would start the project if Sindh government issues them NOC. The chief minister directed the Senior Member Board of Revenue Mohammad Waseem to hold a meeting with the Chinese investors as their application for land acquisition was already in process. “The investors must be facilitated on priority basis,” he said.
The Chinese investors said that they wanted to establish cement factory at Super Highway. The chief minister directed his principal secretary Alamuddin Bullo to personally coordinate with Board of Investment, transport and water board so that the proposed investment of around $4 billion could be brought in smoothly. “I want to give them one-window facility in terms of filing papers and getting NOCs,” he said.
