Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his commitment to root out the evil trade of spurious medicines from the province.
He was chairing a meeting in Lahore on Friday to review the progress over the elimination of counterfeit and substandard medicines in the province and measures taken to provide quality medicines to the masses.
The Chief Minister directed to expedite the campaign against manufactures and suppliers of spurious drugs and adoption of zero-tolerance policy in this regard.
He said quality medicine is the right of every patient and the provincial government will give them this right at all cost.
Shahbaz Sharif said a modern drug testing laboratory has been set up in Lahore to ensure provision of quality medicines.
He said that samples of medicines must also be sent to international drug testing laboratories for testing.
