Lahore, August 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): A collective approach towards economic challenges is a prerequisite to bring the country out of economic mire. This was stated by LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected office-bearers of Disposable Food Packing Association here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah and Vice President Kashif Anwar were also present on the occasion. The LCCI President was of the view that we would have to shun individualism for the good of the whole nation. He said that it was very unfortunate that despite having all the resources, we could not achieve desired economic goals.
Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the sector-specific associations were always very important for the economic well being. He said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry understands that these associations should educate their members through a continuous collaboration with Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the country.
The LCCI President also urged the newly elected office-bears of the Food Packing Association to expedite their liaison with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry that is a bridge between the public and private sectors.
Engineer Sohail Lashari said that he had recently visited Europe and found that they were giving strength to their respective economies through Public-Private Dialogue (PPD). He said that there was no second opinion it that we would have to promote PPD in Pakistan as the policies made without due consultation of the stakeholders were bound to fail.
The LCCI President urged the participants to forward their proposals to the LCCI so that the same could be forwarded to the government for their early solution. The LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah threw light on the ongoing economic scenario and stressed the need for promotion of R and D culture in the country.
The LCCI Vice President Kashif Anwar called for excellence the packing techniques to win the needed share in the global market. Earlier, the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari took oath from the newly elected office bearers of the Disposable Food Packing Association.
The newly elected office-bearer are: Hafiz Adnan Rana President, Ikhlas Majeed Sheikh Senior Vice President, Faisal Saeed Vice President, M. Ali Khan, General Secretary, Sultan Mehmood Khan Joint Secretary, Fayyaz Ahmed Secretary Finance and Afzal Shaukat Secretary Information.
Newly elected office-bearers thanked the President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Engineer Sohail Lashari for providing an opportunity to discuss their issues at a bigger platform.
