The Minister was informed that PFID is one of the prime institutes of the country in fashion and design which has collaboration with several reputed international institutions.

The Minister said that the PFID should expand its functions in the cultural hubs of the country so that the indigenous arts of the country may be taught to the new generation. He further said that the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) will vigorously pursue the expansion of exports in the field of fashion, cultural art and the related services industry.

The Minister instructed the officers that the PFID and MoC should formulate a comprehensive marketing strategy through the commercial officers of Pakistan posted in the embassies abroad to create awareness among the buyers about unique Pakistani art.

The Minister was informed that there are about 905 students studying in different colleges of the Institutes in 6 cities. The Institute offers bachelors, Masters and certification programmes which have great demand in the professional circles of fashion and design and this is evident from the fact the PFID boosts hundred percent employment rate of its graduates.
