Commerce Ministry presentation to Prime Minister on Trade Policy 2011-12

Islamabad: Ministry of Commerce gave a presentation on Trade Policy 2011-12 to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on September 10th, 2011. The session was attended by Senior Minister for Commerce, Mr. Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Federal Minister for Finance, Dr. Hafeez Sheikh, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Dr. Nadeem-ul-Haq, Secretary Commerce, Mr. Zafar Mahmood, CEO Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Mr. Tariq Puri, Secretary Finance, Secretary, Ministry of Textile Industry, and Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue.

The Prime Minister while appreciating the performance of Ministry of Commerce congratulated the exporters for extraordinary achievements despite unhelpful conditions. The recommendations of Ministry of Commerce were approved in principle and would be as per previous practice presented to Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet. After approval of Trade Policy from ECC of the Cabinet, Ministry of Commerce would hold a press conference to brief the media.
