Concern expressed over Gilani’s continued house arrest

Srinagar, May 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronised by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has expressed serious concern over his continued illegal house arrest. The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that since his arrival from Delhi in March this year, Syed Ali Gilani was virtually in jail as heavy contingent of police was keeping a continued vigil and preventing him from performing his social, political and religious obligations.

The spokesman said that the detention was unconstitutional and politically motivated. He said that the puppet administration had imposed unlawful restrictions on the veteran Hurriyet leader to prevent him from his political activities.

Commenting over the court proceedings in the petition against the house arrest, the spokesman said: “Though the application was moved but we are disappointed from courts and chances of any relief are bleak.”
