Deal signed between Pakistan and Iran on Implementing Program on Science and Technology

Karachi, January 20, 2016 (PPI-OT): Pakistan and Iran are agreed on cooperation to promote activities on Science and Technology and Exchange the list and context of national standards and Cooperate and requisite support to defend presented projects of Pakistan and Iran at international and regional organizations level, Director General, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Dr. Barkat Saeed Memon, from Ministry of Science and Technology and Deputy of Supervision on Implementation of Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) Mr. Vahid MARANDI MOGHADDAM signed a MoU.

The MoU is to collaborate with each other in the implementation of Standardization: Exchange of the list and context of national standards of both parties and Cooperate and requisite support to defend presented projects of both parties at international and regional organizations.

Conformity assessment: Presenting the list of accredited inspection companies issuing conformity assessment certificates for export/import goods by two parties, Presenting the list of accepted standards by both parties Presenting the list of compulsory standards of two parties, Presenting procedures on conformity assessment of goods imported / exported and Presenting the list of two parties accredited labs and Inspection Companies of two Parties.

Metrology: Exchanging technical consulting services in order to equip and develop metrology laboratories, Exchange of experts and experiences on calibration and other fields of cooperation. Training and Research: Holding training courses, workshops and seminars on the following fields i.e. Developing national standards and participation in preparing international standards, Conformity assessment, Calibration, Quality management systems, Accreditation and Mutual cooperation and research to develop national, regional and international standards to promote standards and services.

Holding events: Trying to hold seminars on conformity assessment, standardization and metrology in I.R of Iran and Pakistan, one seminar by each party and inviting the experts of two parties and Conducting of joint projects in the area of conformity assessment. Exchange of rules and other information: Exchange of rules and regulations on standardization of both parties in English and Exchange of any available, informative catalogue in English.

Joint meeting between senior officials of the Parties: The parties shall meet to review the present state of cooperation and to evaluate the achievement of objectives of the MOU and this Implementing Program and Parties are responsible for the expenses of this Implementing Program.
