DFID Aitbaar Programme will supplement provincial Information Department efforts in establishing Social Media and Automated Information System in Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar, September 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): DFID Aitbaar Programme will supplement the provincial Information Department efforts in establishing Social Media, Strategic Communication and Automated Information System in the Directorate of Information, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It was decided in a meeting chaired by the Director Information, Behram and Khan in his Office on Monday here. The members of Aitbaar team Mr. Amjad Qamar Media Liaison Expert, Irfan IT Expert, Mukhtar Ali Coordinator and Muhammad Atif Communication Specialist Governance Support Project Planning and Development Department attended.

The meeting thoroughly debated the working of the proposed new Sections, their terms of reference and needs. It told that the Automated Information System will provide information to top Government Officials through Information System.

It will also provide the updates both of print and electronic media to the Top Government Officials on fast track system. The Social Media Section will share the government activities with social media users and will generate response to the social users queries and highlight the government initiatives.

Behramand said that there is a shift from primitive style towards Innovative and modern day needs of the Government to reach the common man through Mass Communication. The world has changed and so are the Information gathering and communication techniques. Information Department is trying to generate appropriate response to portray the image building of the Government and highlight what the Government is doing for the empowerment and overall welfare of the man in the street.
