DPM hails President Zardari’s statement on Kashmir

Srinagar, September 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM) has welcomed the statement of Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari, on Kashmir and said that it has encouraged the people of Kashmir. President Asif Ali Zardari in a meeting with Kashmiri leaders at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Friday said that Pakistan would continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir in their liberation struggle.

The DPM representative in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Advocate Pervez Ahmad Shah, who also attended the meeting, in a statement appreciated President Zardari for highlighting the Kashmir dispute at international level and raising voice for its peaceful resolution. He said that it showed that the political leadership of Pakistan had the same policy on Kashmir and wanted an amicable settlement of the dispute.

Advocate Pervez Ahmad Shah maintained that resolution of the Kashmir dispute was imperative for ensuring durable peace in the south Asian region. Meanwhile, the DPM Chairman, Firdous Ahmad Shah, also hailed the remarks of President Asif Ali Zardari on Kashmir and hoped that Pakistan would continue its efforts for settlement of Kashmir dispute besides raising voice against human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
