Educated girls in Thar being given government jobs: Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar

Karachi, February 10, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Sindh Government is providing Government jobs to educated girls in Thar. Traditional midwives are being trained for safe deliveries of children while in first phase 165 midwives have been trained for the purpose.

This he said while talking to media men visiting Government Hospitals and dispensaries of Diplo, IslamKot, Mithi and adjacent areas. He said that Health Department is working in collaboration with population welfare Department, NGOs, Revenue, EPI, MNCH and other stake holders to up lift the living standard of people and 42 Mobile Medical Units had been formed to provide Health facilitates in remote areas of Thar to the children under five years.

Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar added ‘These 42 Medical Mobile units are equipped with all medical facilities and staff. They not only provide medicines and treatment to expected females and in case of severe illness the effected children are transported and referred to big cities through these Mobile units’.

He said that with the coordination of Population of welfare Department camps are being established at certain points to provide awareness to the women regarding specific gap in birth and how to make deliveries safe and to improve the health of pregnant women. Mr. Dahar expressed his hope that the provision of Government jobs to educated girls in Thar and basic training of health would improve the situation in arid zone and adding that he would not tolerate any negligence in this regard.
