ALGIERS, Business people from Algeria and Pakistan have examined various opportunities for partnerships during an Algerian-Pakistani business meeting held here Monday with a view to boosting economic co-operation between the two countries.
During the meeting, organized by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), the business peopl;e from the two sides discussed opportunities for co-operation, especially in textile and leather, surgical and dental instruments, sports equipment and materials, farm machinery and pharmaceutical products.
Pakistani Ambassador to Algeria Imran Yawar hailed the brotherly relations between the two countries while stressing the need to further strengthen co-operation, particularly in the economic and trading fields. He said the current volume of trade between the two countries was below expectations and potentials of the two countries.
He emphasized Pakistan's willingness to boost and develop trading co-operation with African countries, including Algeria. To that end, he said Pakistani business people would be encouraged to invest in Algeria and invited Algerian business people to do the same in Pakistan.
