The foreign ministers of Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt will hold Wednesday a consultative meeting on Libya, in the framework of followup on the implementation of the tripartite presidential initiative for an inclusive political settlement in the wartorn country.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers of the three countries will discuss ways to end the ongoing fighting in Libya and resume the political process under the auspices of the United Nations, especially in light of the serious developments in the situation since early April, and the continued military confrontations around the capital Tripoli.
The foreign ministers of the three countries have so far held six meetings in Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt in implementation of the "Tunisia Declaration for a Comprehensive Political Settlement in Libya". The declaration affirms the achievement of comprehensive reconciliation in Libya, the preservation of its sovereignty, territorial integrity and adherence to the political solution, as well as the rejection of any military solution to the Libyan crisis and any foreign intervention in its internal affairs.
