Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali has constituted a full member bench to hear the petition filed against conviction of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and captain retired Muhammad Safdar.
The bench comprising Justice Shamas Mehmood Mirza, Justice Sajid Mahmood Sethi and Justice Mujahid Mustaqeem Ahmad will hear the petition.
The petition has been filed by Lawyers’ Foundation for Justice through Advocate A.K Dogar.
Advocate Dogar in his petition has questioned the validity of the NAB Ordinance of 1999 and the courts functioning under this law.
He said the NAB court which convicted Nawaz Sharif had no jurisdiction to decide the matter because the law under which it has been functioning had lapsed after the 18th Constitutional amendment.
