Federal Schools Girls’ Games Islamabad 2014 begins

Islamabad, April 28, 2014 (PPI-OT): Mrs. Anusha Rehman, Federal Minister for IT and Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada Federal Minister for IPC opened today the “Federal Schools Girls Games Islamabad 2014” at Pakistan Sports Complex. These games are jointly being organized by Pakistan Sports Board and Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad.

More than ten thousand female students are participating in the events of Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Athletics. Both the ministers lauded the efforts of Pakistan Sports Board, Ministry of IPC and Ministry of CADD.

They expressed their resolve to further promote sporting and recreational activities for the youth, and particularly female activities. They promised to enhance the Government efforts towards empowerment of the fifty-one percent population of the country.

Mr. Riaz Husain Pirzada praised the spirit and enthusiasm of girls. He added that that such activities would not only develop a sporting culture in the country but would also work as a nursery for identifying female talent who with the passing of time and with provision of scientific based training and coaching would shine as stars in the skies of international sports. Ms. Anusha Rehman on the occasion also promised the female athletes of lucrative incentives to the winners of their specific games.
