Finance Minister announces prices of petroleum products for April 2016

Islamabad, March 31, 2016 (PPI-OT): Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Thursday announced prices of petroleum products for the month of April 2016. Talking to media he said that for the month of April prices of only MS (petrol) and high speed diesel have been marginally increased by Rs. 1.50 and Rs. 1.40 per litre respectively. Prices of other items shall remain the same. Details are as under:

The Minister on this occasion also said that the last date for the filing of tax returns by traders under the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme is being extended till 30th April 2016. The concessionary rate of 0.4% withholding tax would continue to apply during the month of April, he added.

The Finance Minister also on the occasion informed media that instructions to SBP to make payments for US $500 million Euro bond issued by Pakistan in 2006 (maturing today i.e. 31st March 2016) have also been issued. Accordingly with this payment, Pakistan’s external debt shall also stand reduced by US $ 500 million, the Minister added.
