Finance Minister meets Vice President of Export and Import Bank of China

Islamabad, January 18, 2016 (PPI-OT): Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with the Vice President of Export and Import Bank (EXIM) of China, Sun Ping in Beijing today. Both sides on the occasion discussed various projects underway in Pakistan and matters relating to their financing. Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated EXIM Bank’s support rendered for the country’s economic development and for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Minister said that with a robust and stable economy, liberal investment regime and an enormous natural resource endowment, Pakistan stood out in assuring attractive investment returns particularly in the Energy, Power, Mining, Agriculture and Infrastructure, therefore the banks cooperation to develop this potential for the benefit of people was highly valued.

Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted the rewarding policy regime in the power sector expressing appreciation for EXIM’s support in installing power stations under the rubric of CPEC and in other power and communications infrastructure projects.
