Finance Minister orders for early settlement of circular debt issue in gas sector

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has directed the Committee constituted for the settlement of circular debt in gas sector to finalize their report within three working days to settle the issue of circular debt in gas sector.

He was chairing a meeting on reforms in Energy Sector in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Finance Minister emphasized the priority of the government to address the issue of energy sector including circular debt to bring financial sustainability of the sector and economic growth of the country.

The Government earlier constituted a Committee convened by Ashfaq Yousuf Tola for the settlement of circular debt in gas sector.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has conferred the status of Minister of State on Chairman, Reforms and Resource Mobilization Commission (RRMC) Ashfaq Tola.
